NR28 officially launching!

posted Nov 2, 2017, 1:01 AM by Chris Smith
Hello all,

After much negotiating, adjusting, revising and reconsidering plus significant volumes of coffee and chocolate, I would like to formally announce that the final budget for NR28 has been approved.  In other words, We Will Have A Regatta!

There are many thanks to go out at this point.

First off, to Josh Tabor, Sarah Turnbull, and Nicola Seta for the support, feedback and encouragement over the past many months.

Next, to the Regatta Organising Committee.  Many's the fine night spent around the dining room table thrashing out detail to get us to this milestone.

Next, to the key operational staff; the boots on the ground, the hands at the coal face.  You'll keep us fed, watered, patched up and ready to tackle every day.

Finally, you.  The groups, leaders and youth who see the value every day in this Movement, here and across the world.  Without you we will not have a Regatta (though the coffee and chocolate are non-negotiable).

Version 1.0 of the Participants' Camp Handbook has been released and is available for download from the website: http://nr28.scouts.org.nz/key-docs

In it we've covered pretty near every aspect of camp life - please read it carefully so that we are all starting with the same shared knowledge.  Feel free to distribute it to your attending leaders and youth members as well.

This email has gone out to a list comprising group leaders, contingent leaders and various other contacts.  If you are no longer attending or are not involved, please let me know so I can update the list.

Many thanks,
Randall
